Jasmine smells rich and floral, with a sweetness that can suggest ripe fruit and a fresh green edge. Some versions are creamy and petal-soft; others have a warm, indolic undertone that can seem animalic. A jasmine perfume may emphasize only part of this range.
The Jasmine note appears across 1,730 published fragrances in our catalog. Use this page to compare how different brands work with Jasmine within the white floral family.

J’adore Eau de Parfum brings jasmine grandiflorum and sambac into a blend with rose and ylang-ylang. It is a rounded mixed-floral interpretation rather than a single-flower portrait.

Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum pairs jasmine with tuberose and Rangoon creeper

Olène Eau de Toilette surrounds jasmine with wisteria, honeysuckle and narcissus

Alien Eau de Parfum frames jasmine with cashmere wood and a white-amber effect. It is the woody-amber

Jasmin Rouge is a spicy floral interpretation of jasmine. The spice gives the flower a warmer edge than the green garden styles here.

Samsara Eau de Parfum puts jasmine beside ylang-ylang and creamy sandalwood

À la nuit keeps the emphasis on jasmine itself, using the image of flowers scenting warm evening air. A useful comparison with the mixed bouquets and amber settings above.
Rose and jasmine make a rounded floral accord with both petal and fruity facets.
Ylang-ylang adds a creamy, sunny sweetness to jasmine.
Tuberose makes a jasmine blend fuller and more densely white-floral.
Sandalwood gives jasmine a smooth woody background.
Clean musk can take jasmine toward soft fabric or scented soap.
Jasmine’s scent is broader than a simple white-flower sweetness. Two important perfumery species are Jasminum grandiflorum and Jasminum sambac. Supplier descriptions of their extracts include green and fruity facets as well as the full floral scent; neither species is a guarantee of a clean or an animalic finished perfume.
IFF’s jasmine sambac absolute is made by solvent extraction followed by alcohol purification. Jasmine absolutes contain multiple odorants, including indole. Hedione, a separate synthetic aroma material, can contribute a lighter jasmine-like floral effect. A perfumer may use extracts and individual materials together.
The difference to look for when sampling is the setting around the flower. Green notes can suggest fresh petals; tuberose makes a fuller white-floral blend; sandalwood or amber gives the flowers a warmer background. An indolic edge is one possible facet, not a test for natural jasmine content.
