Mécanique Intuitive opens with a surprisingly delicate tension between the dark, tannic quality of black tea and the apricot-like fuzziness of osmanthus. This initial floral-fruity veil quickly parts to reveal a much heavier, more industrial core. It feels like stepping into a wood-paneled library where a glass of dark rum has been left near an open humidor. The heart is dominated by a thick, boozy tobacco that swivels between being dry and herbal and being drenched in dark liquor. As the fragrance settles, it transforms into a dense, tactile experience defined by leather and Bourbon vanilla.
