What does Black Hashish smell like?

Black Hashish is an immersive dive into the darker side of oriental perfumery. It opens with an immediate sense of depth, lead by a dense woody and smoky character that feels both ancient and modern. The heart of the fragrance is a complex tapestry where coffee and tobacco mingle with the resinous warmth of frankincense and labdanum. Instead of being harsh, these heavy hitters are smoothed out by violet and green notes, which provide a subtle, leafy counterpoint to the thick clouds of incense. Wearing this fragrance feels like stepping into a private lounge filled with antique sandalwood furniture and lingering smoke. As it develops on the skin, the oud and cedarwood provide a sturdy foundation, while ambergris and musk add a salty, skin-like texture that keeps the scent from becoming overly dry. It is a rich, dark experience that prioritizes texture and atmosphere, leaning heavily into the "resinous" and "spicy" accords that define its character.

Community Insights

The consensus on performance is that this is a long-lasting fragrance with strong sillage, often remaining noticeable on the skin for the entire day or night.
Fragrance enthusiasts categorize this as an ideal choice for cold weather, specifically fall and winter, where the smoky and woody notes can cut through the crisp air.
While the name might suggest something green or herbal, many users find it shares a similar profile with other high-performance, resinous oud fragrances that emphasize tobacco and balsamic qualities.
It is widely considered a nighttime or evening scent, particularly suited for formal events or nights out where a more bold, statement-making profile is preferred over something light or fresh.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Black Hashish actually smell like hemp or cannabis?+

Despite the provocative name, the fragrance focuses more on the "smoky" and "resinous" qualities of incense and tobacco rather than a literal green cannabis scent. The inclusion of green notes and violet provides a hint of plant-like freshness, but the overall experience is dominated by oud, coffee, and wood.

How does this perform compared to other oud-based fragrances?+

It is frequently compared to "beast mode" scents in the oriental category. Users report that it has excellent longevity and project strongly, similar to other potent woody-spicy fragrances like Shaghaf Oud Aswad or Ameer Al Oudh.

Is this suitable for a professional office environment?+

Because of its heavy smoky and resinous profile, it is generally seen as a leisure or evening fragrance. While it can be worn in the daytime, its intensity and sillage make it more appropriate for nights out or outdoor winter events than a confined business setting.
