Camel sets floral dried fruit against incense, warm resins and animalic musk. Zoologist describes rose and jasmine around succulent fruit, followed by myrrh, amber and cinnamon; its desert-caravan imagery draws on dates and fragrant cargo bound for a marketplace. The house identifies authentic oud in the composition, while specifying that the civet and musk notes are synthetic and that Camel contains no animal ingredients. In his 2017 interview with Zoologist, perfumer Christian Carbonnel explained the two incense entries: frankincense from Oman and incense from India, chosen for their different qualities and smells. He also described using tinctures of real dates grown in Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.
