What does Pastoral smell like?

Pastoral is a dense, high-contrast atmospheric scent that captures the threshold between a golden harvest field and the edge of a dark forest. It opens with an immediate stickiness, combining a thick blackberry jam and ripe apricot with the deep, animalic sweetness of honey, beeswax, and propolis. Unlike typical gourmands, this sweetness is weighted by a gritty, rustic texture that feels closer to the earth than the kitchen. As it settles, the fragrance leans heavily into its namesake countryside inspiration. The heart is dominated by dried botanical elements: golden hay, dry wheat, and toasted oats. These notes provide a warm, cereal-like heart that is cut by the herbal bitterness of maté tea and the sharp, green streak of sweetgrass. The dry down is grounding and incredibly long-lasting, leaving a trail of smoky bourbon vetiver and damp oakmoss on the skin for hours. Wearing it feels like standing in a sun-baked barn filled with drying herbs and preserved fruits while a cool autumn breeze carries the scent of the nearby woods.

Community Insights

The consensus on performance is overwhelmingly positive, with users noting that the fragrance possesses exceptional longevity that often lasts through an entire day and remains detectable on clothing for several days afterward.
Reviewers categorize this as a tactile, "thick" scent, where the resinous and sweet accords create a heavy sillage that maintains its presence even in more challenging weather conditions.
While the scent is fruity and sweet, it is frequently noted for its lack of traditional perfume "fluff," instead being praised for its realistic, earthy, and harvest-centric botanical profile.
It is most highly recommended for leisure and evening wear during the cooler months, specifically autumn, as the hay and dried grain notes resonate with the changing seasons.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the performance of Pastoral compare to typical designer fragrances?+

Pastoral is noted for significantly higher longevity and sillage than average. It behaves like an extrait, clinging to the skin for many hours and staying on fabrics until they are washed.

Is this a feminine or masculine scent?+

It is a true unisex fragrance. While it contains sweet elements like honey and blackberry jam, these are balanced by savory wheat, dry hay, and earthy vetiver, making it suitable for anyone who enjoys atmospheric, resinous scents.

Is this fragrance appropriate for the office or a professional setting?+

Due to its potent sillage and the specific "barnyard" qualities of the hay and propolis, most users suggest it for leisure or casual evening wear rather than a conservative business environment.

Does the fruitiness make this a summer scent?+

No, the "jammy" nature of the fruit combined with the heavy resins and grains makes it feel much better suited for fall and winter. In high summer heat, the beeswax and honey can feel quite dense.
