Aqua Allegoria Harvest Mandarine Basilic is a vivid, heightened interpretation of the classic Mediterranean citrus garden. Created by Delphine Jelk, this 2023 limited edition leans into the "reality" of its ingredients. It opens with an immediate burst of Calabrian mandarin orange that smells less like a candy and more like the zest of a fruit being peeled in the sun. The "harvest" designation is felt through a more robust profile than its predecessors, emphasizing the earthy, herbal quality of the basil. As the scent develops, it moves away from pure citrus into a refreshing green tea heart. This tea note provides a slight bitterness that keeps the fruity accords from becoming too sweet, while the basil remains prominent, lending a peppery, savory edge to the composition. Wearing it feels like a walk through an orchard during the peak of the season—bright, solar, and naturally aromatic. The base of woody notes provides a soft, grounded finish that anchors the fleeting nature of the citrus.
