Is Classique EDT appropriate for daily wear or the office?+−
Generally not recommended for either. Its sillage is substantial and the oriental-powdery warmth of amber, vanilla, and white florals is quite present in close quarters. Most people find it best suited to evenings, nights out, or occasions where bold fragrance is welcome rather than an intrusion. If you want to wear it more casually, significantly limiting your application is the usual workaround.
How does the EDT compare to the EDP version of Classique?+−
The EDT tends to read a bit airier and brighter, with the citrus opening — bergamot, mandarin, pear — playing a more noticeable role before settling into the floral and oriental base. The EDP is generally described as richer, darker, and more overtly provocative from the start. Both share the same DNA but the EDT has a slightly lighter hand in the early stages.
Is this fragrance still worth buying, or has it been reformulated into something lesser?+−
It has been reformulated over the years, and longtime fans do note that vintage formulations tend to carry more depth in the vanilla, amber, and sandalwood base. That said, the current EDT is still very much recognizable as Classique and performs well — longevity remains strong and the core character is intact. Vintage bottles are worth seeking out if the richer drydown matters to you, but the current version isn't considered a shell of what it was.
